The breakdown

I walk them through their shifts, explaining the reads, positioning and decisions on and off the puck. When useful, I’ll ask what they saw to better understand the play from their perspective.

I’ll have a few key plays ready before we meet, so we can spend time on the decisions that matter to their game.

Open ice

We look beyond their own shifts: pro highlights, their league, opponents and season goals. I connect what we’re watching to the decisions they face on the ice, with room for their questions.

I leave them with a short recap and a clear focus: what’s working, what to practise, and what to look for in their next game.

The line stays open

A good game, a frustrating practice, a question on the way home. Players and parents can text or call. I’ll get back to you when I’m available, and check in to see how things are going.

Goals, selected clips and session recaps in one private place. Selected highlights can form a portfolio for teams, agents or scouts.
A progress review every four sessions
We revisit earlier and recent plays, discuss progress in practices and games, and agree on the next priorities together.

With your permission, I’ll connect with their coach and bring their priorities into our sessions.

I’ll source available game footage through my subscription. If a game isn’t covered, connect me with your team’s video contact or upload your own recording. I’ll find the shifts.

How do you coach?

I lead each session with prepared footage, specific observations and guidance drawn from my experience in the pro game. I explain what I see, why a decision matters, and how they can apply that knowledge. When it helps clarify a play, I’ll ask what they saw or intended. They can ask questions throughout. Over time, I get to know how they learn and develop the trust that helps me coach them more effectively.

What does the course cost?

The Hockey IQ Course is $0 with purchase of any coaching session or package—a $119 value. Prefer to learn on your own? The course is $119 CAD separately. Your first coaching purchase also includes a complimentary introductory call to discuss your family’s priorities.

Which games can you access?

LiveBarn covers participating venues, not every team or game. Access depends on the rink and any recording restrictions. Where available, we can also review opponents’ games. Team footage or your own recording are alternatives when coverage is unavailable.

Booking, course access & upgrades

After payment, choose your complimentary introductory call, then your coaching dates. Book all four or return for the rest. Calls take place online.

Your course invitation arrives by email. Course-only buyers go straight to Skool; no calendar needed.

How often do we review progress?

After every four coaching sessions, we revisit earlier and recent clips, discuss progress in practices and games, and hear what the player and family have noticed. Usually that’s about once a month when meeting weekly, but the review follows your sessions rather than a fixed calendar date.

Scheduling & support

At your convenience. Choose from the available calendar. Please allow three days after the introduction—and three days’ notice for later bookings—so I can prepare your footage.

Time for their game. Sessions are paced to the player. Sessions can run up to two hours.

Cancel or reschedule. Cancel before the call and the session returns to your balance. Unused sessions never expire. A missed call without cancellation counts as a used session.

Purchases are normally non-refundable. If you’re unhappy with the service, contact me. I’d like to understand what I can improve; refunds may be considered individually.

Between-session support. Text or call anytime during ongoing, scheduled coaching and for one week after your last session. I’ll respond when available and let you know when it’s time to book again for continued support. Unused session credits do not extend support indefinitely.
